Funny you guys mention that about the threads. This guy who is into phones and PC's at work mentioned it may be overkill when I told him I had switched the chip. My wife encouraged me to do it when I was going to pass and stay with the original 6 core..

Well Intel are supposedly answering AMD's challenge with the all new Core I9 that will come in a six core and twelve core CPU with a base speed of 4Ghz with OC to 4.5Ghz and a whole new socket design.. Interestingly will be what they use to cool them with since they have a TDP of 140w..  Also there will be the new Core I7 7740k and 7640k as well..

Sorry to hear about the DAZ3D issues. My Ryzen 5 1600 works as advertised.

So yours works well with DAZ Studio? No laggy posing and whatnot?

I changed the display optimization to best which really helped. My texture resource is set to medium between performance and quality.

I set up one very large scene that all of a sudden became laggy. I only have 16GB right now so maybe I max'd it out someway. But then I reloaded the scene and everything was normal again. I really haven't had any problems with my DAZ3D Studio and Ryzen 5 1600 working together. I haven't watched if DAZ is using all of my cores. Will go and monitor some of that stuff this weekend.

The upcoming BIOS update for AM4 boards looks like it'll help some of y'all out a LOT on the memory front (for those of you that like to maximize your memory settings).  Should become generally available in June, and some betas are available for a couple of boards already.

I'll be interested in seeing how this impacts various benchmarks once it becomes generally available, and I'll keep an eye out for beta bios benches as well.

Perfect, looks like AM4 will be amazing when Zen+ comes out. I couldn't believe it when I was hitting the limits of my 4790k, but I suppose that's what happens when technology is moving that fast these days.

That does look exciting. Should fix a lot of problems people are having with RAM. Thanks for the link.
