Property Clone in Parameters Tab

Hi guys,  On the way to solving a problem with a script, I tried to use the Property Clone menu item in the parameters tab - but I couldn't work out how to use it and the docco appears as yet unwritten.  My pane is coming up with no properties shown. 

 

Any clues on how this tool works?
