Isamu - very good looking, but middle age? Seriously?

Just read the description of Isamu.

An interesting, good looking man. But calling him a middle aged warrior? He looks grown-up, but barely, and more like a teacher or a preacher than a warrior. Don't get me wrong, I like his face, and the promos look promising. But there are very few even remotely middle aged warriors here on sale, the best of them older M4 Versions of Mortem Vetus.

I would like to see more seasoned men in DAZ. More, what we call in German, "gestandene Männer".

he's agede really well looks more like early to mid 20s Dale, Ivan, George, Abel, Darius, maybe Kyle and Russel in the ones I have are more middle aged to older looking. Then again I'll be 45 this year and I get told I look a lot younger and I know a few others that do too as well as vice versa

Perhaps he comes from some kind of fantasy culture where the average life expectancy is thirty, and where thirty-five is considered elderly? The image of him standing bravely there in what looks like the remains of a floral nightie that took on a rottweiler puppy and lost hints that the word 'warrior' doesn't have quite the same definition in his world that it does in mine either :)

I think that ad copy is a typo

I think they meant "Middle Eastern" man as he could pass for an Arab

Yea, I agree.  The name and appearance implies Middle Eastern.  But perhaps to someone just out of his teens he would look "middle aged".  Heaven knows, back when I was just out of my teens (50 years ago), 30 was the age of death! surprise  This guy looks looks robust, active and ready to start a family.

That made think of when I was about six and it was announced in assembly that one of our teachers was fifty. I was convinced he was going to be dead by the end of the day and was inconsolable!

  • Okay, who called this kid "middle aged". No wrinkles around the eyes or on the brow? No battle scars? For a middle aged fantasy warrior, he must have some sort of enchantment spell on him. Nice model but too youngish looking. Add a few wrinkles and some grey in at the temples, maybe a few battle scars and you will get a proper middle aged warrior. Any wrinkle morph packs out there?

Well, it's on par with the realism of most of the female figures, so hey, equality!

  • I think he's an extremely good looking man, and to me he looks like an early 30-something professional.  But he's definitely not middle aged.  And most guys (and gals) I know have several scars and stories to go with them earned during their journey to middle age.  A warrior should have scars and marks earned from combat training and battle, plus the one he got falling out of a tree when he was 10.

I rather like the man gown

I like the look of him, he's sitting in my cart.

Anybody know what the "nightgown" outfit is? https://www.daz3d.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/s/isamu05-daz3d.jpg

Not to mention the bumps and bruises he is going to have got defending his choice of dress.

Well really, I've seen 10 year olds with more wrinkles. It's a fact of a face that conveys expressions. It's like the character has been Botoxed it's entire life.

I don't think it is a typo. I like the character and his long robe.

Oh, I don't know....after all, in the history of man, men have been wearing robes/skirt/dress-type clothing a lot longer than they've been wearing pants wink

    Hehe.

Hah, yes! I guess some people figure beard = aged... Honestly looks like he's in his mid-twenties to me, too.

I'm sure its possible that some PAs are in their late teens-early twenties,  so from their perspective,  middle aged is anything over 29.  But when you're over fifty,  middle aged happens at about 47.  It's all relative a spectrum of possibilities.

Well, then by that argument then yes, but that's only for a few thousand years.  Before that everybody wore absolutely nothing for 100s of thousands of years. cheeky  And going by that logic it should be OK to wear my birthday suit anywhere without expecting a few problems.devil

I don't think any of those man-robes looked like they'd been made from a late 1970s Marks and Spencer loose sofa cover though :)

When you are 54 middle age starts at 55.

Celts have been wearing britches since before the Roman Empire. Britches probably got invented not long after the horse was domesticated practically speaking or probably truthfully much earlier than that as form fitting clothing it has to be said is much more protective than dress style clothing, which is really still practical in desert environments.

Closing in on my mid-40's, I felt really old seeing this guy described as "middle aged". Glad to see I'm not the only one reacting to that choice of words.

Good looking and well made model though.yes

I'm now imagining an elderly guy, IE: late 40s...

Elderly is when your biggest adventure in the last 5 weeks is going for an ice cream sundae on a Sunday afternoon.

I can accept him as 40ish. The outfit (and the 'dynasty warrior' bit) makes me assume it's somebody inspired by the Dynasty Warriors game line. He also reminds me of a Korean drama historical king.

I'm almost 50. I believe it if you're taking care of  yourself. devil Last guy I dated thought I was mid 30's ;)

I'm at the tail end of "middle age" at 56.  Folks still think I'm in my early 40's so I get that some folks age much differently than others BUT this guy.. yea, gotta be a typo .... Middle Eastern yes, middle aged, no! No!  and NO!  lol

Ah, M3dia is another slow ager I see.  Can't tell, as the avy is not his face.  Here is me... Picture is about 5 years old... I have more gray now that's about it....

I'm all for him being middle aged given that I too am middle-aged cheeky in fact I think I need him in my runtime. He can take over for Hercules. Just a bit more musculature and dial in some mega nipples and he's all set.

I like Javier's work in general I'm happy to support his work
