Can someone explain exactly what the origin point and the end point do?

Can someone explain what the origin point and end poitns do?   Orgin seems to be the point of axis....but what is end point?

The origin is the pivot point. The end point is the point where the object is going to swing around. For instance, let's say you have a yoyo on a long string and you swing it in a circle around your head. Your hand where you are holding the string is the origin and the yoyo is the end point. Hope that makes sense ;).
