Stupid question: Has anyone tried combining earlier Terradome products with Terradome 3?

I'm seeing some sweet deals on some older Terradome/Skydome products.

Has anyone tried using elements from the previous generations of Terradome (or even Skydome) products with Terradome 3?  Or TD3 Iray?  I'm guessing this should work, but don't really know.  If so, what was your experience?

The original Terradome, and Terradome 2 for the most part are Poser only. Terradome 3 was the first product to be Daz Studio ready.

You might be able to get a few of the objects to work in Daz Studio, but not the skies, or lands.

All of the products were breathtaking, were they not?

Note that I've had some luck with some Terra-dome-ish products (such as The Pit and Echoes of Andromeda) but in both cases I ended up going with a different skydome.  These are not 'branded' Terradome products though.

Several products on sale at the moment are Terradome specific, hence my curiousity about using these with TD3.

It'd be nice if the earlier generations of Terradome product were ported over to TD3.  As you said, there are a number of earlier products that are indeed breathtaking.

Bringing in anything Daz Studio into TerraDome 3 is fine. You shouldn't have trouble. The trouble is that the products for TerraDome and TerraDome 2 are Poser. They directly effect areas of Poser which don't carry over to Daz Studio. The props, and some of the backdrops which could be used from one to the other, but pretty much nothing else. Now care would have to be made bringing them into TerraDome 3 due to the switch to iRay. You would want to apply, or convert the textures for those props before rendering.

I think those who worked on the TD products did the best they could to bring over as much as they could and even make it better inside of Daz Studio.
