Marvel's Black Cat Fur Trim?
I'm kitbashing supers again. I can usually kitbash something pretty decent, but the big thing with supers is the corner cases. Sometimes you just want that one piece that is really distinct about the costume. In this case I'm doing Black Cat, Peter Parker's one-time girlfriend (she was very bad for Petey). Her boots and gloves are the thing I need most. They both have a cuff of white fur at the top. I don't have any illusions about getting really furry-looking fur (LAMH crashes my DS 100% of the time for some reason), but I'd at least like to get the proportions of the cuffs in the ball park.
There are a lot of variations here (I turned safe search on to remove the racy results, but it filtered out some perfectly tame results too). I'd be okay with any of them, really.
Actually, looking at those pics, the fur along her neckline is pretty great. Wouldn't mind having something for that, too.

You could try finding a collar and adding a noise filter to the displacement and cranking up the subd or maybe this product https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/black-snow/104052/
Heh, never would have guessed in a million years that there was a Black Cat product. If you want to get your superhero costume made as a product, I guess it helps if it looks like a fetish outfit. :) Thank you very much FSMC.
I have always had good luck with this method.
Find a free or inexpensive Santa's Helper outfit made for poser and look at how they do the fur.
Look at the ASC:Christmas product over @ Rendo
Same here, only thing is, in IRAY, you really need to crank up the subD and displacement texture tiling to get fine results
Well now you two have me interested in trying that out. Thanks for the tip.
That's how I did the tinsel in this image. Created a helix in Max, UVMapped it, applied an IRAY metal shader to it, then applied a noise map in the displacement channel, tiled it like 200 times and cranked the subd up till it looked fine
