Question about saving a variety of expressions and/or poses

This isn't a regular "how do you save an expression" for future use question.  I hope I can explain what it is that I'd like to do.

When I create/play around with a character, I may fit it with 3 or four wigs.  Then, by using the eye icon, I can cycle through to see the variations until I select the one I think looks best in the particular scene.  Is there any way to do that with expressions?  I think the answer will be no, but there is so much that I don't know, I thought it would be worth a shot to ask.  Basically, I'd like to keep several versions of expressions or poses, and be able to cycle through them using the little eyeball thingie, rather than scrolling through all the expressions I have, picking it again etc.

You could use the Puppeteer pane, applying each expression to a dot and then in preview mode dragging between them.

Great idea!  I'd seen a tutorial vid about that tool a while back but haven't tried it yet. Thank you for reminding me of its existence.
