Do objects need weight mapping?

Using older props and sets...poser stuff...they don't appear to be weight mapped, at least not general or tri-ax.
Do they need to be convrted to work?

I've had no problems using most older Poser stuff in DS. At least, not other than the usual (anything with PMD morphs won't work - though I think there's a fix around somewhere; materials and surface settings need adjusting on most things; scaling may need to be adjusted depending on what measurement was used to define "one poser unit" or if the prop was just directly scaled to V3/V4) I know that a weight map/rigging system introduced with Poser 8 won't work in DS, but I don't know how much Poser kept with it (and I think most vendors didn't)
