Stonemason's After the War Owners (Question)

This is a beautiful set, however, I can't seem to be able to control the lighting.  Did Stonemason add some kind of dome lighting to the set?  I purposely shut off all lights (including the auto headlamp) in my scene and looked through the elements of Stonemason's scene elements to see if there are other lights but can't find any.  The scene always renders in IRay with some default backlight that I don't want and can't seem to find to shut off.  I want muted lighting for the render and I can't alter the lighting.  Am I crazy or just overlooking something?  Even after shutting off every light + headlamp, the scene still renders lit.

Apparently I actually have that. Gonna see if I get the same results.

You can do this one of two ways. Set your environment in the render tab to scene only. For Dome and Scene mode, when you remove the environment map, it automatically activates the sun settings regardless of whether you have it set to sun-sky or not. That's probably what's lighting your scene. If that's your case, set the environment intensity slider near the top to zero, and then only your scene lights will light your scene.

Nope, just loaded the IRAY scene and created a camera, set it to scene only,  turned headlamp off and it is pitch black.

Well, if it works for you guys out of the box, then I may have done something bone-headed on my end.  At least I know its me (which is not a comforting thought).

    Hi,

a further aspect was for me, that Stonemason used rather dark coloring of the surfaces - compared to "normal" textures on characters, clothing, etc.
His diffuse texture maps are pretty dark by its own. But he additionally applied a dark gray base color on top.

That was the first I changed for almost all surfaces for iRay.

Well, simply try "Sun-Sky only". And take care, where in the scene you located your camera.

Thanks all for the assistance.  And Vaskania--thaks for working on it and the hand-holding.  laugh

Got it sorted out. It was the Dome Scene and Environment Map that was messing with me. Thank you all for chiming in.
