OT: Image-editing programs that have16-bit RGB by default?

I'm getting super frustrated with Paintshop Pro at the moment, as it persists in down-converting all my 16-bit TIFFs into 8-bit RGB by default. Is there a non-Adobe alternative out there that doesn't do this?

I'm on a Windows machine, FWIW... thanks :)

  • I think Serif's new Affinity Photo works. I've only had 8-bit renders that I've used. But 16 bit and 32 bit are in the drop downs. It is better than PS in printing out on my Epson printer. They have a trial version.

Thanks! I've heard good things about affinity photo, and should help with my photography habit as well :)

    Affinity Photo is good.

You can also check Gimp > 2.9.2  which can go up 32 bit. get a 2.9.5 build at https://www.partha.com/

I also think Krita (free) can handle 16 and 32 bit depth, but that is more a painting tool. Depends what you want to do

Even if you mentionned non Adobe software I think Adobe photoshop element should also do the job
