Morphing Python - Does it still look good?

Hey!

I'm contemplating getting morphing python to add to a beauty render around her neck (attached). Is it possible to make this look really realistic with iray? are there any new shaders, textures or tricks I could use to make it look good?

I heard talk about the chameleon looking great with some SSS and updated texturing (if anyone knows where I could find that let me know).

There are not products for that, but it's not too hard to adjust it in the surfaces tab.  IgnisSerpentis has a cool add-on for it (these are DS mats but they add a lot of textures): https://www.daz3d.com/cold-blooded

I have to put in a plug for my own snake too:

I own both, but SickleYield's Constrictor much better suited my needs for this promo. (Not plugging my character - just showing you the python :p)

It's got a whole bunch of morphs and about a million bones so it was fairly easy to drape around her neck. From memory, I shrunk it down a bit. But look at those lovely scale details and maps!

Jere is a very quick render: I used the cold blooded textures, applied the default IRay shader to all surfaces and cut the gloss down 25%.

yes Morphing Python looks great, lots of texture optiosn for it too.  I rendered this in  Iray

    Sharecg.com gallery post.

  • Wow amazing advice and beautiful renders!! I'm tempted by both!!

Dinoraul also has a snake over on rendo. Only one texture set and needs to be scaled WAY down, since it's enormous (and prehistoric) but it looks well in 3DL. Don't know about Iray.

We need more pose packages for snakes.

  • I bought both and the add-on.. I feel like I could've done with some draped snake poses, I like Sickleyield's but all those bones.. not sure how to pose it in any kind of controlled way.. It's rendering now so will see! I'll post my results.

Raising another thread from the dead! So, inquiring minds want to know, is this Daz Morphing Python the same as the old freebie Daz Morphing Python from centuries ago?

Yes, but as I recall, it was refurbished a bit with new add-on textures when it was pulled from the free library and made into a regular store product.

I rendered this one a long time ago and thought it was GREAT even back then!

Yeah.  I like Sickle's and the 98MBI snake a little better, but you can't the second one anymore.

An old render with Conan's little brother, David the Cimmarian...
