I've come across this particular hairstyle twice now (at least I think it's the same) being used to advertise a couple of models, but for the life of me I cannot find it anywhere and there are no notes on either of the product pages identifying it. Those products Jane and Melisande for G3, which can be found here https://www.daz3d.com/jane-for-genesis-3-female and here https://www.daz3d.com/melisande-for-genesis-3-female. It's just a simple kind of bobcut I guess, but I really like it. Any help would be much appreciated! Here's what it looks like:

Jane for Genesis 3 Female in People and Wearables, Genesis 3 People, Female, 3D Models by Daz 3D

Melisande for Genesis 3 Female in Vendor, Adiene, 3D Models by Daz 3D

  • Yeah, that looks like it! Thanks! I've never seen this site before. I'm still kind of new at this and really only familiar with DAZ. Are you telling me I can actually purchase stuff from there and import it into DAZ? If so, you just opened up a whole new world to me!

Yep, Renderosity is another great place to get content, most of the content there has a distinctly divverent flavor to the stuff here at Daz.  One thing to keep in mind is that the vast majority of products there will not show up in your Smart Content in Studio, you have to find it in your content library.

  • Thanks for the tip. That's so cool! I seriously had no idea. Daz has some awesome stuff, but there are times where I just can't find what I have in mind. Can't wait to check out what kind of content they have there! Appreciate all the help from you guys. :)

Welcome to the world of 3D! keep in mind that DAZ is just a small part of a bigger community. The way things work with DAZ product and in daz Studio are kinda specific, but once you learn how it all works and where all the files go, you can import other file formats into DS, like .OBJ. There are also a few other stores that sell content that will also work in DS, although you will have to install it manually in many cases which isn't a bad thing, it's good to know where your files are going.

For further down the road there are many other apps for rendering/animation and eventually modeling. Much of the 3D content you use in DS in plug and play, meaning you buy it, click a few clicks and then render because DAZ has designed it to work this way in their app, Daz Studio. In the bigger 3D community, you have many users that are using higher end apps that do everything, including modeling and they make much of their own content, create their own textures, and use different renderers or animation apps.

there are quite a few stores actually ... hope you making good money :)

You may not be aware, but this stuff started from a program called Poser. DAZ started from that, as well as most of the other stores that now sell products for DAZ Studio. Rendo was, and still is, one of the largest for Poser content, although moving slowly to DAZ Studio more and more.

  • Thank you for the warm welcome. It's all very exciting! Somewhat overwhelming at times for a person like me who's had no actual training in this stuff, but so was Daz studio when I first got into it. I'm pretty comfortable with the program now, even though I'm sure I don't know the half of it yet. I think I managed some pretty decent renders with my limited knowledge and even more limited pc capablilities, haha. Looking forward to growing more in this awesome field!

Not gonna lie. Daz studio appealed to me because the program was free... In light of this new revelation, I imagine I will be broke for the next year. :)

Oh, you just THINK it's free....lol. Do yourself a favor and NEVER look at your all time total spent after you've been doing this for awhile or you'll just depress yourself. LOL.

  • Haha, too late for that Laurie. I only meant it was free for an initial download. Didn't want to invest money into a field I had no experience in. What if I didn't want to go any further after purchase? Daz seemed like a good start to try out and see if it's something I'd want to get into. And I love it! But yeah, after learning how to do some things, I spent quite a bit on content. Did the math once and my jaw dropped. Totally not doing it again... haha.
