Anyone have a secret ingredient for a realistic ocean wake? I have some great 3D props from sharecg, but I have tried quite a few water shaders on them and none fit the bill, any ideas?

Have you tried the water shader from this set - https://www.daz3d.com/rigged-water-iray-2
Yep, i actually am using part of one of those for the ocean I am using
NOt sure then for the wake itself. Doing the wake with deformers or in a modeler is the easy part. Its the look of the air bubbles thats created that is the tough part and I have not seen anythign that comes cloese
Maybe try modifying a snow shader, like one of the ones from Terradome 3? I know I started from there when I was doing a picture with a dragon trailing his wing through an otherwise mirror still lake. It was intended more as a ripple than a full wake, but it's somewhere to start.
This one is designed to create wake: https://www.daz3d.com/ripples-and-wakes-iray
I THINK I used a milk shader plus a bump or normal shader of 'bubbles' to get an appropriate surface, but it's been a while.
One of the frustrating things about Iray volumes is that it's really hard to have a smooth transition from, say, a cloudy volume to a clear volume.
yeah, but the image of the wake isn't all that convincing for me. Matty, you gave me an idea, find a seamless bubble texture and see if I can tile that. Blurst of Times, there is a milk shader in the product mentioned early on and I did try it with a few variations, but no joy.
I'll try a few of the suggestions posted, thanks for helping out. I'll post back if I find a "3D"solution.
it's a postwork thing and not a 3d thing, but ron's underwater air has a wide range of really nice bubble brushes.

Sy's newly released Super Splash Pack also has a couple of wake props:
Thanks, I hadn't seen that one, will give it a try.
Not an option as I want to do this in complete 3D and fake as little as possible, but thanks for the info and the link.
Along these same lines, is there a good model out there for suds...as in a bubble bath? I know Ron has a really good brush. I was just wondering if there was a model available so I could render it in 3D.
Powerage has a product for G3F at Renderosity.
Thanks!
