HDRI background from DS render?

Hello all, I've been playing with some new sets recently, and unfortunately those are indoors scenes. For Iray, that means very long render times to get rid of graininess, so I was wondering if it's somehow possible in DS to render environment once in high resolution and then use that as an HDRI background. I mean, I would render a room with walls, floor, ceiling, windows and lights etc. once in high resolution, and then later add items like sofas, tables and stuff like that, which my characters interact with. Since I plan to use that same environment in numerous renders, but from different camera angles, that would save me tons of time to set it as a background, instead of rendering it over and over again. I think in Blender there's panoramic lenses, which make it possible to create a HDR from render image, so I was wondering if there's anything similar in DS to get 360 degree view. Any ideas/tips are welcome how to achieve this?
