Lego-style Figures

Does anyone make a Poser or Daz Studio figure like they use in the Lego movies?

  • Thanks, by tracking down the various links, I found the Veeperson figure, which I'm buying tonight. I'll also use a variet of free add-ons.

    Base Figure $8.50: http://contentparadise.com/productDetails.aspx?id=16211

There were some really cool minifig's made some years back...I have them somewhere..they were freebies.  The creator passed away though, so I don't think there's anywhere that they're still out there, and the resharing of them would be dubious at best.

  • those were pretty cool on vanishing

Depends what is in the readme - some allow free redistribution ...

There are a ton of free programs out there to create lego models here: http://alternativeto.net/software/lego-digital-designer/

Can't remember which one I downloaded for my son last year. I think that computer blew up, LOL.

But are they rigged and posable in DS or Poser 11?

  • On a sida note, there are a LOT of Lego-style freebies at Content Paradise. Just find the Veeperson figure, then click on the Vanishing Point link, and then sort by price. So far, all of their minifig and Veeperson props and items that I've found there are free.

Not sure if this is close enough to Lego-style, but Jack Tomalin's store has https://www.daz3d.com/knocker-pirates

And from the description, I interpret it to mean there's going to be a whole series.

The first original figure I rigged for myself was this, then I did this, then this, and finally this. Mechanical(ish) stuff is a great place to start when learning how to rig. You're talking a bone per leg, a bone per arm, a bone per wrist and one each for the head and torso for one of those figures.  If ever there was an ideal project for teaching yourself how to rig in studio, I think this might be it.
