moving Poser content to DAZ

Hi, although I have been around for awhile, I thought I would give DAZ a go and see if I can work it out this time. Now I have managed to move some stuff over to the DAZ content, but I bought DM's Alyas Bath_DS from Poser and I just can't seem to be able to move it into DAZ and I'm quite sure I will find others that I can't do also.

Please could someone give me an idea where to start with this. Getting files that I have bought from DAZ over the years is easy with the manager install, but having to try and put content in manually is just so confusing.

Have tried looking for some info. here, but I keep coming up with 'page not found' or something about archives, so frustrating.

Thanks blush

What do you mean, bought from Poser? Bought through the store interface inside Poser? Or from another web store?

If they are installed and working in Poser just point DS to your Poser Runtime folder and it'll see it.  Poser format doesn't always automatically convert 100%, usually about 90% is the best you'll get (surface settings need adjusted) and some things don't work at all (like dynamic cloth designed for Poser) but it'll see it.

Edit->Preferences->Content Library Tab->Content Directory Button, click on "Poser Formats", then "Add..."

Thank you for answering. :)  Richard- sorry I meant that I wanted to use some content that I bought at Renderosity and want to use in DAZStudio.

Fisty - When you mean 'point DS to my Poser Runtime folder', I seem to have to go for example.. Gema Hair> Runtime> Geometries>SWAM_Art> 2014_GemaHR> SW_GemaHR01.obj..  before I can open and I just know there's an easier way.

This morning I have uninstalled DS three times as this keeps coming up. Nothing was changed from last night when it was working, but I have now taken my firewall down and added DAZStudio to my trusted list to see that was the problem. When I uninstalled DS I also made sure there was nothing anywhere except in trash. Can you help me here as I have no idea what else to do.

    I'm using Mac. 10.6.8

Load up daz install manager, in the search box type in PostgreSQL, check the installed tab to see if there is already one there, if it is uninstall it.  Then go to the first tab and install the correct one for your opperating system.  That is the content management service, it powers the smart content and meta data stuff.  It's not needed to use DS (I'm not running it currently but I'm an advanced level user) but it makes things a lot easier to find.

  • Fisty... I think I'm going to have to give up on DAZ as it's just too complicated for little old me. I've re downloaded everything I thought I had too. Followed your suggestions and now when I install something from the left hand side of Daz., after installing it disappears on me and there's just so many files I have to look into to try and find them, which I didn't find.

Not to worry, I'll just go back to my old Poser and manage with that.

Thanks for trying to help me.. guess I'm just too old to try something new.  :)
