Installation with SSD Drive
in New Users
I just upgraded my computer to one with a 250GB SSD and 2TB SSHD drives. I quickly overwhelmed the SSD with programs; I installed DAZ originally in the SSD, but there is no room for my content files. I have tried to install them in the SSHD Drive and I tried using various paths when I install with DIM, but I can't find a configuration that works. Any thoughts? This is driving me crackers.

See if this description helps.
a) It won';t help now, but if - before isntaling -you find the Documents (Pictures, etc.) folder in your user folder (C:\Users\YOU), right-click on it, seelct Proeprties, and use the Location tab to move it to the other drive then newly installed applications will default to that location. DS will do that.
b) Pick a folder and set both DIM and DS to use it. In DIM click the gear icon at top-right, go to the Installation tab, and set the desired path. In DS go to Edit>Preferecnes>Content Library tab and click the Content Directory Manager button, edit the paths that are pointing to your C: drive to point to the new folder or just add the new folder; in DS 4.9 also select the path for Daz Connect and click Edit to point it to a location on the desired drive.
I also have a SSD drive, but only Daz Studio and the content files are located there. It's exclusively for Daz Studio.
All other programs are on my regular hard drive, including my operating system. Even my notes, working renders and finals are stored here.
I chose to do it this way because there is a limited number of actions on a SSD, though I purchased one with a 10 year lifespan.
