I'm curious, did you guys ever get this resolved? I'm looking to buy some Ron's Brushes, but I only have CS4 and don't have a need to pay more for CS6.

    Thanks !!

By the way, someone mentioned the free "abrMate" software for converting newer brushes to older versions of PS.

I noticed a disclaimer on the abrMate website that says "NOTE: abrMate only works with Photshop CS5 and older brushes. Newer CS6 - CC brushes do not work with abrMate 1.1"

Looks like the Ron's brushes state they are ONLY for CS6-CC, so maybe it won't work?

    Thanks

Strange that Ron no longer supports older versions. I imagine that's limiting the size of his customer base for something that could easily be applied.

I bought Ron's Glitter and only have PS2, but at the time, the product page said it supported P7,CS, CS2 and so on up (see my image).  They don't work for me and my CS2 throws up an error message about it..  I can only use the pngs or vectors that came with them.  The ABR mate will open the Glitter brushes so you can at least export as png files.(see other image)

But good news, I bought his Powder brushes which has a file that says Cs5 and they work fine in my CS2.
