I'm a long way from modeling anything at this point but was curious if anyone has ever tried to create themselves into a character.

    Yes, Amy Aimei has... she created a version of herself that was very nice, then was generous enough to give it away for free :)

    Kewl. I don't know if I could do it eventually but I think it would be fun to try and create a character of myself not that I'm anything to look at by any stretch.

    I've been trying to do so to use as my own custom avatar, but I can't seem to quite capture it well. Then again, I never was much good at modelling anything organic.

    I've tried just using dials to create a face from a photo but I'm not good at it. I just don't seem to be able to get the "look". I haven't tried myself but was thinking about it this morning.
