Troubles with translate

XandoryXandory Posts: 139

I'm not new, per se, but it's been years since I've done Daz.  I downloaded Daz again, and was going in to make a character.  I went to put on a non-G7 hair on G7 and went to manually move it to the character's head.  However, every time I move it with the translation tool, things are flipping.  Literally, I drag it down, and it flips upside down at the same time.  What am I doing wrong?

EEP!  And how do I change my name back to Xandory?

You can edit your username here https://www.daz3d.com/customer/account/edit/

If the hair is a figure make sure you translate the figure node, not a bone

On the name, I finally got that fixed.  :D  And you're right about the bone.  I thought I only had the figure, but I guess the translate for the figure icon is just really far away from the figure itself.  Major thank you, Richard!

If the figure node is far distant from the first bone that usually means that the first bone is already translated (though with clothes or hair the figure node will match the base figure's, so it may well be distant from the first bone with geometry for a hairpiece or a bracelet).

That's what it looks like.  Sense it's a non-matching figure, I have to place it manually.  Genesis and Gen 3 don't translate with autofit?

AutoFit works on the zeroed figures, and gives the AutoFitted figure the same centre points as the base figure (essentially it is adjusting the shape and running the Transfer Utility as far as I understand it).
