DIM and Internet Bandwidth caps

My ISP, Comcast XFinty recently began a 1TB monthly bandwidth cap. I never worried too much about it. But today I checked my Bandwidth usage, and almost had a heart attack. It's only the 7th of March, and I've already used 500GB!? I checked my DAZ Studio installation. I've gathered almost 300GB of stuff in the past 17 years!

I've rearranged a few things onto different hard drives, and run DIM in order to create the new installations. I won't be doing that very often!

I could really, really, really do with a way to throttle DIM so it can only download at, say, 1 mb a second (or half that, or twice that, or whatever). Slow and steady but automated downloading would be better than plowing through my alotment and choking up my connection :P

My setup is different, in that my access is dial-up and I have to go  off-site to download. Because of the hassle, I never delete the downloads; I bought a 1 TB USB drive a couple of years ago and currently have 603 GB of DIM download directory. I think I paid $130 for it back then; I now see 2 TB versions for under $100.

And a couple of months ago, IIRC, I picked up 5 or 6 items and it was a 6.8 GB download (Terradome 3 and some tutorials).

I routinely save all my original install files, and have them backed up on portable hard drives. Oh, and I'm looking at moving up from 3TB to 5TB hard drives!

Wow, I certainly know the feeling. After doing this stuff for 20 years, the products really pile up ;). Between Rendo, here (and Zygote), RDNA, PoserPros and CP, I don't even know what I have anymore. LOL.

Amazingly I have a pretty good idea what I have. For about 15-16 years I insisted on manually installing stuff. But that got to be a crippling chore.
