Is there a way to copy/paste surface properties without copying textures?

So I have these boots that are nice and shiny, and I wanted to make sure my character's gloves have the same kind of shininess to them. Is there a way to copy that over, other than doing that manually? I tried copying the surface properties over, but it always copies the texture, subsurface image, bump map, etc too, which ruins the gloves.

Copy and then change the maps back would be the fastest/easiest method. They should still be in the dropdown for selecting a map.

save it as as surface, when loading it, hold ctrl and select leave textures or what exactly it says as they are

you can do the same with materials

Oh wow I didn't even know you could do that! Thanks!

Although it was "shader" not "surfaces.I pressed ctrl while clicking on an iRay shader and it worked like a charm!

You can also use the option dialogue when saving to tell the preset to save only values or only maps - use the option menu button part way down the dialogue's right side.
