Saving ALL settings, including LIGHTS

I could be wrong. I like when I'm wrong and learn something.

I usually save my work as SAVE AS ...SCENE. And if it's a figure I'm working on, I save the scene and also a Character Preset.

Recently, I did an amazing render. Opened the same scene another day and the render sucked. Apparently, I had to add the environment light and the scene light (ambient) all over again. What's the best way to save my work to ensure it saves EVERYTHING?

I'm hoping Save as Scene already does that and somehow and I must have forgotten to re-save after adding the light ...fixtures, er, so to speak.

It was a scene, not a scene subset? And opening the scene, not merging it? By default a scene should include the render settings, including (in Iray) the environment but you may have set it off in one of two ways in Edit>Preferences>Scene: Save Render Settings with Scene should be on, Ignore Render Settings on loading sceen should be on (option names from memory, but I think that is near enough to identify them).

Oh snaps! I did merge two scenes together to add a new character.

And I had the character scene open first and THEN merged/opened the scene with environment + lighting settings.

That must be it. Well done again, sir.

You don't get days off?    kinda glad you don't seem to....lol

Why don't you hire or promote Ati (the bashful duck avatar) for help.

We need to figure out an offer that couldn't be refused first. We'd use our usual approach, but while the boys may be tough they don't like getting their three-piece suits wet.
