It will not work for every model, but most character models do have seperate head- and body dials as well. Usually that will do the trick....

Probably not the answer you want, but you can always dial in Josie 7 as normal, and then simply return the scaling to 100%. You should be aware that this would result in a figure with unrealistic head/body/leg proportions for a full sized figure. A better solution would be to dial in Josie 7, and then use the height dial to return the figure to the desired height.

    thanks!

is this a genesis3 thing with un-scaled option?

was able to dial in minotaur6 without scaling

It is not a Genesis 3 thing, most characters are dialed in without scaling, However large or small shapes, like Freak or child figures tend to scale on all three Genesis versions. It is easier to scale to around the right size, and then the morph deals with differences in body proportions plus other face/body changes. I think by making most of the shape change using scaling, both weight-maps work better, and clothing fits.

I am not sure why the Minotaur does not scale, since it is a large shape. I can only assume that for such an extreme (ie non human) shape it was better to morph the vertices from their original positions rather than scaling first.

  • What glaseye said. There are usually three dials. The main one is the one under "People". Don't use that one (set it to zero). Go under "Full Body/People" for the body morph and also under "Head/People" for the head morph. These last two dials should not scale. Well, the head might since it's a teen (toons also scale), but you can adjust the scale it in "Head/Real World/Head Propagation Scale" if necessary.

does Josie 7 have unscaling slider hiding somewhere?

    thanks!

What do you mean by the unscaling slider? To unscale just go to the Parameters->General->Transforms->Scale and change the 91% of Teen Josie 7 to 100%. On Genesis 2 Teen Josie 6 is quite a bit taller, she is only scaled down to 97%.

Not a specific dial, no, but 'Josie' is scaled overall to 91%. Changing that to 100 will give the default V7 lenght + a little more, as then her head is a bit too large....

every bone is scaled to 91%?

sigh, been a while, don't know if the store would let me return her

The entire figure is scaled to 91%, much the same way as a prop is scaled. I am a bit of a loss to understand why you would want to return her because she uses scaling (particular give that this scaling is easy to remove). Lots of morphs use scaling, what have you against it?

You may need to check Show Hidden in the Parameters pane's options to see scaling and once you see it you may need to break the chain link icon to be able to change it.

Ok just loaded up Teen Josie 7 and I did not have to have Show Hiden checked or break the link.
