The increasing sadness of gift-card offers before...

March Madness.
Around 2/16, we had a gidt card deal of 12% off without having to buy anything but the gift card (and 16% if you bought one new item).
A few days later, we had 12 or 14% (can't remember which) but you had to buy 2 new items.
And now we have 10% and you have to buy two new items.
It's like DAZ marketing assumes our memories don't extend past the last 24 hours. I find this a little bit insulting.

The discount is decreasing. The later you decide to jump on, the less you save. I think this is perfectly fair.
I personally like these sales. I couldn't take advantage of the first, or even the second giftcard sale, but I'm sure happy that we have this third one. I got less extra than if I would have bought during the first sale, but I still got something, which is nice.
Just think of all the complaints there would be from people who took the first deal if DAZ offered a gift card deal (say 10%) and then a few days later offered a better deal (say 16%).
if it means any 2 new be less harsh if today's new only.
the zen bath looks tempting
Any new releases work, even PC+ items.
Being able to throw PC+ items in, along with other stuff I'm buying, makes it pretty easy this time.
It's quite common actually - they did it with Poser a while ago. First a medium discount, then a higher one, and then an even higher one. I think the strategy is "lets first get those who are willing to pay $150, then those who are willing to pay $100, and then those who don't want to pay more than $75". If you start with $75 all three categories of people will grab it for that.
This results in quite a lot of frustrated people which is very likely going to influence their future spending on a given site.
I agree, but they usually don't use this strategy if the product sells well. And on a positive note it does give some people with limited resources an opportunity to get something they might not be able to afford otherwise.
Personally I'd rather be without all those sales and discounts and instead just have reasonable prices for everything. Would make life a lot simpler for everyone, and save a lot of work and resources.
So, do we think MM is starting on Monday? The sales the past few days certainly seem to be, uh, extremely lackluster.
And most of the ones that show expiration dates seem to be ending today or tomorrow.
It sort of reads like, "Well... we have to have SOMETHING on the carousel... but we don't want to fleece them before March Madness really gets going..." I'm really hoping they've been saving up some good stuff. OK... some _interesting_ stuff.
Remember, there's a sale banner still up on the whirly-thingy that says "Get Ready for March Madness". IIRC the month-long sales do sometimes start a few days early. Hold on...
