New product "Refined rigging" looks very blurry and blotchy when playing

Hi,
I was under the impression these videos were sold as high definition vids ... I really don't consider this very good quality, reminds me of dial up quality vids that when things are moving around too fast the video looks blurry and blotchy .... While I think I need this info from Esha I am a visual learner and this is just not cutting it for me. I'm currently using the GOM player which if fully updated. I use a large monitor but set at the native resolution so things SHOULD be sharp and clear but that's not the case. Not sure what to do but not pleased...

Is the video playing at its native resolution? Is this an ex-webinar? That might have limited the possible rssolution if so.
Yes, native resolution and it is absolutely a webinar extract. Not sure it's worth the money I paid for it. I've looked over some other vid tuts like from Dark Edge Design and Ray's are very crisp and clear.....
I would imagine that he is recording on a local machine, no need to worry about bandwidtth as with the webinar.
If you're not happy with the quality, return it just like any other product. You definitely should expect videos that are sold as training aids to be crisp and clear. Was there a sample provided, because to be fair, if there was, you could see the quality ahead of time?
No, there was no pre video teaser. I did get a gift card refund. It's all good. I hope that in the future whomever was filming this decided to go with a higher quality video capture in the future. Shame really!
Wow, that's definitely disappointing.
I get the impression from reading the commercial product announcements for these Digital Art Live webinars that the artists like Esha do the teaching, but the producer/publisher running the business/infrastructure side of the webinars (Esha's partner?) may have more control over the live broadcast resolution. I thought I'd read in one of their commercial announcement threads that purchasers would receive a high-red screen recording. It might be helpful to cross-post your feedback on the commercial product thread for the training product so the producer will see it.
I'm hoping so. I don't want to take sales away from either but I'm sorry when you paying good money for Hi Def and you get a blurry, hard to see details sort of product while it's in play mode... just plain old disappointing.
I have the HD recording of the current Iray Shader Webinar, and that looks very good, no quality problems. I agree, perhaps you contact the PA in one of the threads over in the commercial section of the forum?
The product page says "HD quality recording". I have several of the Esha/Digital Art Live tutorials sold in the Daz store and all have been very good quality.
hope it gets sorted out
Sorry to hear you're having trouble!
We provided a HD recording (which is a very large file) as well as a smaller, lower-quality recording for people who have problems with large downloads. It seems only the low-quality one got added to the store. Not sure where the HD file got stuck but we've already contacted Daz to sort it out.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks for clearing this up, esha.
When it's sorted out Esha, please post so I can re purchase it.. hopefully at the price I originally bought it for.
It's sorted out!
You need to go to your product library and download it manually. It seems DIM doesn't support split zip files.
Thank you for your patience, everyone!
Hmmm, not seeing the zips, just z01 files. I tried downloading them but nothing. I realize they are part of a set but seems 01 is not there. So what I'm seeing is the first file, which is the low rez version I was complaining about and then the 4 added files (02, 03, 04, 05) but no 01. So not sure what to suggest, perhaps DAZ is still looking that one? Weird...
We have 4 900 MB files, ending in .z01, z02, z03, and z04; 7-Zip doesn't like any of them; I combined them with 7-zip (had to look up how) and got a 3.6 GB file that 7-zip won't open and that vlc won't play if I rename it.
Weird. Yea, can't find any unzip program to open them up!
Try joining them with something like HJSPLIT (http://www.hjsplit.org/) - if these are triuly split zips that should produce a file you can unzip..
Try WinRAR, it use to handle that type of files.
Didn't work. Doesn't recognize the .z01 format, so changed that to .001 and renamed the other three files from z to 0 and then did the join operation... said it was successful but didn't assign an extension so did a .mp4 and that failed. I guess wait for Esha to come in here and tell us what's going on or how to make this work.
WinRAR had no idea what to do with these files. Says they were damaged.
did you try hjspit? the z0x extension suggests that these are proper split zips. Winrar, 7zip, etx might not join them properly.. Or try this in a command prompt "copy /b file.z01+file.z02+file.z03+file.z04 file.zip"
Yea, my longer post above was trying hjsplit
The five-part high-rez version is missing the first part - the .z00 part.We only have the low-rez version and 4 of the 5 high-rez parts. Ticket 239960 if anyone else wants to pile on.
YUP, I wrote DAZ to mention my findings a couple of days ago. Hopefully they can fix this!
