Do you have Generation X2 and the various addons? If so it is easy to get the A3 shape into G3F, and after this you can create a A3 clone for G3F to use to transfer clothing to G3F. See this thread where I explain how to make a K4 clone for G3F, the technique to create a A3 clone is the same

my brain is stuck cause the rigging is different

the outfits i want to use are the 'elf flirty' theme. has puffy arm bands and pointy toe socks

There are these: http://www.daz3d.com/gen-3-iconic-shapes-for-genesis - no GenX needed far as I know. After you fit to Genesis you could save as a Wardrobe asset and fit to G2 and then to G3.

I've got those Iconic Shapes (and http://www.daz3d.com/david-3-for-genesis to complete the set), and they are exactly as advertized:  you no more need GenX to use the older Millenium3 clothes on Genesis (unfortunately, they weren't upgraded to Genesis 2 or 3) than to use Genesis' own clothes on Rawn's ManWolf.  Of course, Mike3's "Roaring 20's Gangster Set" is pretty rumpled on Mike5 (Bodybuilder), but it does at least fit him!
