Dragonsbane sale question

The ad says you get 50% off any barbarian related item if you buy a dragonsbane product. Does that 50% off not apply if the item is on sale? For instance, I was looking at: http://www.daz3d.com/forsaken-village-and-construction-set ;

It is currently on sale for 40%. When I added it to my cart....the 50% was off the original price. :( It would be great with promos I need to make, but I can't justify the price when I'm buying the the brand new shiny stuff that definitely take priority for promos.

I believe the percent is always off the original price, not the sale price.

The price does look a bit odd - if the discounts stacked it would be 70% off, if they replaced it would be 50% off but instead it seems to be 55% off. I will flag this in case it is wrong.
