Workaround for batch renders?

Hi all,

Just looking for ways to better utilize nightime for renders. There is probably no way to perform this, but just trying my luck.

This is what I'm trying to achieve:

a) Setup a scene, save into file 1.Setup another scene, save as file 2.

b) Render File 1, Frame 1.

c) When job finished due to allocated time or reached convergence, work on File 2, Frame1.

I thought I could play around with the Frames, and render as animation ( I just need individual frame). But I couldnt get it to work. I hope my description is correct, for example:

a) Frame 1, G3F figure is standing.

b) Frame 2 (set as key first) , apply pose G3F change to sitting on chair.

When I swap back to Frame 1, it would be some sort of transition move between standing and sitting. My assumption is that the system needs a minimum of 30 frame to store the movement and anything short would be messed up.

Let me know if I just need to fix my setup.

Thanks.

The batch renderer here in the store will do exactly what you want

It works with both 3dl and iray

It's only limitation is that it can only render through the camera or view the scene was last saved in, other than that it saves the render settings that were set when the scene was last saved.

As for using the timeline, I believe there is an option to turn of the transitioning between frames which may fix your render sequence but I can't remember what it might be called.

Quick question, Ruri, on your animation. Are you saying that frame 1 has your model standing and frame 2 has your model sitting? That doesn't give  the program much space to run the "tween" frames, which is what I think you're looking for. What you need to do is have your model standing in frame 1, set as a key frame, and then however many frames out you want her to be seated is when you should apply the sitting pose.

Or are you referring to Frame 1 as to your first image file you want rendered and Frame 2 to mean the second image file you want rendered?  I'm just trying to wrap my head around what it is you're trying to do, so that maybe I can lend some appropriate advice. :)

    Hi Feralfey,

Yes, that's what I'm trying to achieve. I just want 2(or more renders of different scenes (files) or frames in a scene. I just thought of using the frame timeline as a work around, not because I'm trying to do any animation.

Just a bit more description on what I'm trying to get:

Option 1 - Render the last saved frame of any scene

    1. Queue up a bunch of saved scenes.

    2. Click on render. Daz renders first scene until timeout due to iteration achieved, etc.

    3. Daz move on to next scene. Daz renders until timeout due to iteration achieved, etc.

    4. Repeat until complete.

Note: The above steps are just what I imagine (if I'm writing a functional specs), not what I expect Daz to do. Its just to help visualization.

Option 2 - Use animation frame as workaround

    1. Set frame 1, with character sitting.

    2. Set frame 30 as key, with character standing (or other action). Assume that the transition between frame 1 and 30 is correct, and character, object and everything is in place.

    3. Render only frame 1 and 30 (nothing in between).

Any method to achieve similar result is more than welcome. I'm all ears.

    Hi kaotkbliss,

Oh ok, will check that out.

    Thanks all.

OK. Now I understand why you were thinking in terms of doing this as an animation. Quite clever, actually. However, I'm not sure that this is the most efficient means of achieving what you want to do.

I would recommend using this: http://www.daz3d.com/batch-render-for-daz-studio-4-and-rib . Draagonstorm (may she rest in peace) knew her business when it came to building amazing scripts for DazStudio. While I don't have this particular product, I did take a look at the specs and it should do exactly what you want it to do.

Thanks....well, gotta hold off on this until I get better at renders.
