Belle 7?

Any word when or if there is a G3 update for Belle coming?

Thanks!

    I honestly don't think we'll see it. We already have the "young girl" niche filled with Teen Josie 7, Tween Julie 7, and Sunny 7.

  • True, but Josie and Julie got G3 upgrades.  As Sunny is new she might be replacing Belle, but I think of them as very different figures so I hope that Belle 7 will see the light some day.

    I just looked at the 3 legacy morph sets of G2F shapes for G3F, and Belle 6 isn't in any of them. Barring the release of a Belle 7 figure, you could use Generation X2, ot the Transfer Utility to convert the existing Belle to G3F.

    Wow, thanks for checking that out.  I haven't done that type of conversion before.  That would transform all of the morphs and to G3F geometry and then I would use G3F materials, clothes, etc.  It's a reliable and compatible system the X2 Transfer?

    Just get and use GenX2, you can transfer any GF2 characater over to GF3. Here is Belle wearing a GF3 texture thanks to cayman Studios

  • Looks very good!  I'm checking this out... needs the add-ons for G3 and G2 I imagine?

    I think we are heading towards Victoria 8. Maybe a few more female figures, then V8 is next up.

    The phantom Mika 7 is the one who has turned up in some of the fits of recently released items. I can't recall any others, but there was one mentioned which most thought was a typo. Started with 'L', iirc.

    Yeah, I see Mika 7 is listed here as a supported shape. Those boots where released last month so I'm wondering if we'll be seeing Mika 7 soon. :)

    I think V8 will be out with the next major DAZ release – DAZ 5;  perhaps a year, 1½ year from now.
    And I really hope they do an effort with it, not rush it out as with V7, wich really felt more like a V6.1 than a new generation + that it in quite few ways was a step backwards from V6, with lesser material zones and even lesser abilities to conform and so on.

    What I hope to happen with the 8 characters is a clear improvement:
    * Male and females released together and working better together

    * A return to more materal zones and more possibilities to shaping and modelling both face and body including abilities to hide finger- and toenails like with Gen 4, flattening ears, nose, female breasts and so on, so that it looks more realistic beneath tight clothes.

    * More realistic expressions

    * Attached male geneticals

    * More options when it comes to aging and youth shapes

    * Better autofit controls

    * A possibility to use with poses from older versions

    * A possibilith to use with UV-maps from older versions

    Left image is Belle6 textures on G3; right is same textures after using NGS2 (they were tweaked to get the paler skin).

    I used a texture transfer tool from that other place. I've not transferred the shape, but that is shown above.

    I like pale textures; it suits the stylised characters I create, so Belle6 was a great starting texture.

    That looks great, thanks for helping me with this process.  Can you tell me the name of the texture transfer tool?

    And

    v8 will released this year

    That is very likely, because I'm just starting the move to G3. laugh

    Good timing, cheaper etc. :)

    I believe I can link it as it is a specific request.

    You will need additional packs to get G2F as well. You will also need to transfer the textures to G2F base before you transfer them via the blacksmith tool; it can take some time to do all the different processes - just a wee warning.

    The other tool available here is perhaps easier to deal with, but I don't like the work around it has - although the affects are impressive. You might want to see if the alternative available here suits you more.

    I'm not sure if that is the one you need, but it is related; perhaps someone else can advise you for sure.

    Belle's skin is the best, period, imo. I've been hoping for a proper G3 version, but it doesn't look like its happening. The other young women of G3 just don't compare, not even close, they don't even have fair skin.

    But thanks to Blacksmith and GenX I eventually created a G3 version, and painstakingly copied all my surface settings from the G2 version so she looks exactly the same in G3.

    My prediction on Generation 8 is much sooner, later this year. Genesis 2 was out 2 years before G3 came. And G3 is almost 2 years old right now.

    But I'll say this, unique UVs need to die in a fire. The only times you should even need a unique UV is when the model is vastly different.

  • Good comments, outrider42.  I've been working on converting Belle to G3, but GenX won't even run properly.  The pane comes up, but there's no models or figures found.  I've tried re-installing, and installing Genesis Starter Essentials, G3, etc. with DIM as I heard GenX is not compatible with DazContent.  I only run Daz 4.9 Beta though, and that might also be an issue.  Although I have plugin problems like with GoZ if I have two versions of Daz installed.  I also had problems with Cayman Studios Legacy UV converter as the fingers and toes came out all white.  :(

    Anyone have the issues before?  I'll probably try installing non-Beta Daz 4.9 and try a clean install... going to be very frustrated if that doesn't work.  Ultimately, please add Belle 7!

    GenX2 works with DAZ Connect installed products.  You need to click on the "Connect Path" button in GenX2 and make sure it is pointed to the same DAZ Connect folder as you set in the Content Directory Manager.  If you end up changing the Connect Path setting, you'll need to Exit and Restart Daz Studio to refresh GenX2 so it will scan your Daz Connect folder for morphs usable in GenX2.

    Since you said you restalled all of the Genesis Essentials installers with DIM, you should see the Genesis figures when you click on the Source button (see pic).  You would have needed to exit and restart Daz Studio after your reintalled the Genesis figures with DIM to have GenX2 rescan for Genesis figures.

    It wont work in beta versions, I noticed.

    I despise Connect due to its DRM component so can't comment on it working there; but would be surprised if it didn't work.

    How did you transfer Belle 6 textures to G3?
