no-shader mat or shader mat?

When buying some of these older v4/m4 items adopted from rtdna, some of the poses offer both, but neither have the little scroll to tell me which on works better as-is. Pointers? (using 4.7)

The distinction will be for Poser, they will probably be the saem in DS - unless the shader version has no settings that make sense in the base properties that are all DS will read, in which case the non-shader will be better.

Thanks ... I tend to delete one or the other when two versions are offered to lessen later confusion.
