OT: A Versatile New Tool for Art, Music, or Whatever...

I didn't see anything about this in the forums so far, so I thought I'd mention it. I just saw some info on the Sensel Morph, a touchpad controller that looks like it should be really good tool for those of you who can draw (I can't) and it looks like a good alternative to the Wacom products. One of the video demos shows an artist using a brush rather than a stylus to do painting in Photoshop. The tablet can have different overlays put on it to customize the tablet for different uses. My main interest is in using it as an interface for some of the softsynths I use in music, but it looks like this has great potential for artists, too.

I'm hoping putting in a link to the company isn't a problem, since they aren't selling 3d content; http://sensel.com/

That looks like fun, particularly with using a real brush.

Yeah, I need to let my artist friends know about it. The price sounds good, and should be good right out of the box for them. I would need to do some custom overlays for some of the things I would use it for, but the overlays currently available will probably cover most people's needs.

Looks really interesting. I would love to use the media overlay for Premier editing

I have taken to taping paper to my wacom as even with a less smooth brush it's still too slippery for me!
