Just want to say - thank you for this product

Aww thank you so much, you're most welcome!
oooh another thank you thread! I need to get this but I need to get a render box first.
Doesn't seem to be too much talk about either of these products. How do they stand up to similar products by Smay or Hellboy?
Anyone actually rendered these yet? I would love to see some renders by users and maybe some idea how the whole Geoshell idea for hair works.
@bluejaunte - Got them both. (Male and Female) They are great! They work well, and I even tried it on the Toon Generation 2 figures. Perfect fit !! :)
Thanks for the kind words :) indeed that's the advantage of a geoshell, the fit will be perfect no matter what. It's essentially just a second skin.
I used them in both of my gallery renders.
I'll test it in a few. I admit I'm curious. I bought the male version.
Okay, I like it, but I am a bit suprised the hair appears to have only one color-brown. Granted it is very close to the scalp, but, I would excpect at least a light gold, and red and silver variation especially for 14 bucks. . Am I missing something?
If you read the product description, you can easily set it to whatever color you like.
Customize the color to your liking by adjusting the 'Base Color' (Iray) or 'Diffuse Color' (3Delight) in the Surfaces tab. All promo renders shown use the unaltered original color though. It blends in a bit with the character textures to give a pretty decent result in most cases.
Ah, okay, Im unaccustomed to products which do not have hair color presets even if users can adjust them themselves by changing surface settings.
Yeah I certainly considered it, but then I thought to those who want to do adjustments, say to bring the hair more in line with the brows or just the skin color of their particular character, providing some random colors would have more likely just resulted in wonky-looking combinations. The hair blends in a bit with the skull too, which means the default color appears slightly different on every skin but with the result of looking more natural IMO, with the option for the user to make very minute changes in surfaces tab if needed.
yeah, not liking this method of color changing hair. too many surface settings showing up for me when I go in there. Which one do I pick to alter color of just shaved hair?
Base color I would think since it's the diffuse color. I don't have this product, so take that for what it is (an educated guess). LOL

What I like about it, is it provides a nice natural hairline which will be useful in layering with the numerous fiber mesh hairs that have been released lately whose skullcaps are kind of receding.
I don't like the recoloration method personally, as it seems tough to match or get a hair color and you can't always tell what you will get until you render, but I'm sure I will figure it out eventually.
Here I chose to layer it with a woman's fiber mesh hairstyle. It is not perfect because of the hairline shows a bit in the front, but I'll work on it.
At any rate, I think this will be useful for kitbashing which is great.
It is a way that I prefer since I have simple desktop tools to sample the exact color of a texture and then i can set the exact value; my problem with the traditional presets is they never seem to match my monitors settings. If you use things like Mec4d's iray hair settings, it becomes second nature.
whoa, that's gorgeous Serene Night! Is the hair on his chest a different product to the character?
The chest hair just got released ar rendo last night. It is called "oh my bodyhair" it has tons of options. I'm still testing it out but seems to be worth 10 bucks. He does have some painted on hair under the mesh.
@Serene Night
Thanks for the heads up! Redz does some amazing stuff, and I so need this!
And I was serious in that comment about you doing a post-work tutorial. Even something simple... you have the basics down in a way I just can't comprehend and there must be other people like me who simply don't get it
Looks pretty good. I rarely buy at rendo so I'll have to consider it next payday. But it does look good.
I'll second that tutorial! Blown away when I was looking through Serene Night's gallery the other night! I wanna do that!!! :D
Yeah for Iray it's Base Color. You can leave all the surfaces selected. Set the viewport to Iray and you'll be able to see the result instantly.
@Surene Night: love that render! That is exactly what I bought this hair for-its a kitbashing wonder!
YAY! It has hair on the hands and feet! *runs to the other place*.
