How to render a small animation in parts?

There is a way to render an animation in parts? Sometimes the electricity go off and I lose all the render progress. I use iray and daz studio

That is one of the many reasons people render to an image sequence rather than to a finished animation file.

What I have to select after an animation is rendered as movie? (Image attached)

 

The options are Codec intel IYUV, microsoft RLE, Microsoft video 1 and completed pictures without compression. Where can I find information about what do each option? I found nothing in google.

Render to Image sequence is an alternative option in Render Settings, before you start rendering.

What is a good product to create a mp4 from the rendered PNG images?  Free if possible 

I have not had luck finding anything that creates a video, most seem to just create a slide show.
