Scene subsets taking a very long time to save in latest release.

Has anybody else noticed that saving takes a lot longer in the latest release?

    I have not noticed.

What are you trying to save?  Cameras, props, lights, ect...

Are they parented to each other or all loose?

What other options are you choosing?

  • I have three characters, alone, no props, no lights.

They all have clothing on, and hair.

I have saved them before, and it has been quick, a few seconds.

Now it is taking close to a minute to save.

I've had no delays at all.  I would have noticed, as I was creating a new character and saved the subset multiple times.

Have you tried just saving it all as a scene and then restarting DS and tjhen saving them all out ?

  • I'll try rebooting.

    Stranger things have happened.

File sizes and therefore saving times will suddenly bloat out hugely if you apply Fit Control morphs.

A tiny 138kb scene jumped to 23mb after I applied the G3F Fit Control morphs to 3 items of clothing.

There is an option to remove unsed Fit Control Morphs. Are you using that option?

Yeh I did for each item of clothing but it only reduced the size by about half.

I'm not complaining, I love the Fit Controls..... although it's a poor substitute for the Poser morph brush.

  • Ah, I do have fit control on one shirt in the scene...I did remove the unused morphs, as I only used a couple of them...but Yeesh!

There has to be a better way to do this...

  • There is something else going on.

I saved it as a scene, rebooted my machine, and now I can't open the scene or the subset. DAZ hangs and becomes unresponsive.

I'll try another scene and see if it does this with everything now.
