If the requirements say that you need Victoria 7, that means you need it to make the shape look like in the promotion. If you use it without V7, then there will still be changes to the shape when you apply the character/shape, but it will look slightly different, as some morphed shape of V7 is missing. So, for example, the face might be wider without V7, or eyes are differently shaped.

So, if you buy A7, and have a charactter that needs V7, then of course you can use the shape dials to dial in A7, and then the character, but the result will look different then the one you get if you use V7. I'm not at my rendering-PC right now, or I'd give you an example.

EDIT: Found something... From this thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/1673176/#Comment_1673176

The character Myrtle requires Star 2.0 and Aiko 7. The example shows the differences in the head shape.

EDIT 2: Here's a comparision - The character, Kelly for Aiko 6, requires Aiko 6. It uses the base dialed in at 0.5 (you can see that in the shape tab, body and head shape if you'd check).

The left girl is Kelly used on Genesis 2 Female base, with Aiko 6 dialled back to 0.

The girl in the middle is Kelly using the 0.5 Aiko (character preset load), which is as she's supposed to look.

The girl to the right is Kelly shape used in combination with 0.5 Victoria 6.

As youi can see, while the Kelly shape can be used without Aiko 6, each mixture brings different results.

The morphs aren't installed to the character (Aiko, Victoria), they're installed to the base figure (Genesis). Both characters are Genesis figures, so they will both be able to use any G3F body shape you have installed.

Yes. What Spotted Kitty said. Any character that is designed for Genesis 3 (and any of it's constituent shapes ie: Victoria 7, Aiko 7, etc.,) will work regardless if you have the "required" shape (in this case you can use the character dial even when you don't have Victoria 7 in your runtime.) You might not get the same looking character as is promised in the promos of that character's product, however, you will get a decent looking character since most PAs keep in mind that not everyone will have the required shape and so they provide a good looking character none-the-less.

That's a long-winded way of saying, yes, the character will work without Victoria 7 installed. Lol.

The beauty of the Genesis technology is that you can easily blend different characters, even without having "required" ones on board. Unless, of course, you're looking to recreate the character exactly as the product render shows. In that case, yes, you'll need the required shape.
