Large scale ancient collapsed wall

Any suggestions for products that might be easily used to create an ancient very large collapsed wall section? Of course I could build it piece by piece, but the idea is to eliminate a great deal of work by making use of an existing product or small number of products. I don't have good examples, I'm thinking something vaguely similar to the attached pics but much larger scale, maybe something that could pass as Egyptian to the average non-historian; really anything non-modern might work.

In Carrara, I'd use a surface replicator.
In Studio, one could use the Ultrascatter plugin. http://www.daz3d.com/ultrascatter-advanced-instancing-for-daz-studio
EDIT: Here is a tutorial for a mountain of skulls, but you would just substitute a variety of bricks and rocks for the skulls.

There are a few ruined walls in this freebie that can give you a start, you will need to add some rubble around them

Bullet physics or a particle emitter (emitting "bricks") might be other options. I'd also think about making a basic "mound" object to sit under the rubble and give it the general shape.
You could also use the mound and appy a rubble texture/displacement to it (I think Stonemason's After the War set does that in part), and of course you can combine all of the above.
Thanks for the ideas!
