Memory management/use question for multi-frame rendering.

I'm going on a multi-week vacation (without my computer), so I thought I'd set up a more ambitious render than I usually do and let my computer have at it until I get back. However, I don't want to have DAZ/Iray to run out of memory on a big scene and either crash, or render so slowly that not much gets done. So I was thinking of rending out the scene as an animation, with characters coming in/disappearing in seperate frames. Then, when I'm back home, I can composite all the characters (using per-character alpha channel canvases).

If I move characters that aren't being rendered in a frame below the floor (or otherwise blocked from the camera, will Iray discard their textures to keep the render-time memory to what's in frame, or will all the textures from everything that ever appears in the "animation" get loaded?

I don't have a Nvidia card, so I usually render overnight in CPU mode. This would be the same, just on an epic scale.
