Fast Fog Iray- What set in promo?

LlynaraLlynara Posts: 4,770

I just bought @Sickleyield 's wonderful Fast Fog for Iray, and was wondering what set is used in this picture. It's not listed in the promo credits. I recognize it but can't remember the name, and can't find it so far in the searches.

@scorpio Thank you so much! I knew I recognized it, I even own it, but couldn't find it with the search terms I was using.

It's BRC - The Cloister, yep!  It's an older set but it converts fine to Iray.

Someone finally asked about content in one of my promos.  I feel included.  ^.^

Thanks, Sickleyield and Jack! I thought that promo was awesome. I went looking through Jack's catalog thinking it was one of his buildings. I didn't see it in there, even when I unhid what I owned. I picked up so many goodies in the PC+ sale, that I forgot I not only had it, but also the Iray add-on for it! Time to get organized, I guess.

Thanks for posting the link, Jack. I love those Iray updates. Please keep them coming. They are awesome. The ones you just did for Baroque Grandeur are stunning!

You have some great promos! Usually I can figure out what was used, but this one stumped me, LOL

  • If you like you can do it in photoshop with these fine brushes I have here at DAZ ,Ron's Steam and Smoke,Ron's Fog and Fog 2,and dry ice.

Hi Ron! I actually have all of those except the dry ice. I love your brushes and use them often. I thought it would be fun to see if I can get some fog into the render too, then add more in post.

Quick question- I just got your beautiful Fireflies brushes and was wondering about the outfit used in the main promo pic. Is that entirely painted or did that start off as a 3D outfit? It's really amazing.

Ron's brushes are also a great way to create your own in-scene fog props or new transmaps for my existing ones if you like being able to see fog first in preview. I have a tutorial for this on my YouTube.

The outfit is completely painted I commisioned this piece from a girl at Deviant Art, she just pained the girl I added the special effects I sometime do this when time is a factor when getting the product right is paramount here is her at Dart/ http://deviney.deviantart.com/art/Girl-with-a-lantern-firefly-Brushes-1-653626843

Thanks for using my products, so glad to help you have yourself a happy little New Year (lol) if you ever need anything let me know...Ron

Aw thanks Ron. You too, I am a big fan. :) I often use my fog props behind figures because that's harder to paint but your brushes in front in post (not on the fog product promos obviously but in many other renders and promos).

No, it doesn''t say anything about Iray, and the product SKU is quite old.

I didn't think so; but I asked because Jack implied it was an iray update.. So, I hoped he'd comment and maybe if tyhere really isn't an iray update he wouold consider doing one.

Yes, I just meant to agree with your observation.

My conversion of it took thirty seconds (select all children in scene tab, expand all in surfaces, select all surfaces, apply uber base, turn up glossy strength and adjust roughness). Obviously an Iray update by Jack is much better, but the set is not unusable without one. I'm still using all his things I own.

It's not listed either under Addons on the "The Cloister" page.
