New to Genesis generation need some direction

So i have been using Victoria 4 and Micheal 4 along with Aiko 4 for years now, and I would like to try my hand in not being left in the stone age with those figures being 10 years old now.

 

I only know of the V4,M4,A4,D3,S4 figures being the base and then tex maps/morphs from there

I browsed the shop and am completely baffled now, I think i understand the concept of Genesis 3 being the base model, can someone explain like a heirachy tree from that base figure cause i am really am confused on it. I can browse a item and it tells me i need v7, but I thought g3 model was the base figure not v7?

Can someone steer me in the right direction, don't want to buy stuff and find out i need this to make the stuff i bought work

I reckon the "Must Buy items" for switching to G3 Female are these Basic Morphs as many figures you might want to buy use them :

V7 is a morph of G3F and some figures sold use V7 Morphs or Textures -

If you do not own V7 & you purchase something that needs V7 if its just her morphs then the textures will work perfectly but your version of the character will look different due to the missing Morphs of V7

check the Whats Included Part for "This product uses the Genesis 3 Base Female UV Maps "

If the Character uses V7 UV Maps (Textures) then do not purchase unless you own V7 -  Today you can get V7 for free when you purchase 2 or more featured Top Sellers from 2016, 2015, & 2013

There are several utilities available to enable you to use V4 content with G3 such as this item (I have it & it works well)

plus you can auto fit clothing without buying anything extra by fitting it to Genesis - then to G2 - then to G3

Transfer results are generally pretty decent but shoes do not transfer well
