Being reduced to tears - installation issue

I have a macbook pro I7 dual intel processor with 8 gigs ram (32 bit),
for the sake of my sanity -
please confirm which installer I need. I have purchased and own license to Carrara 8 pro...
I reformatted my mac now I'd like to download the Beta 8.5.

    Nope.
    I still sane.

    For my 32 bit macbook pro - I choose the 64 bit Mac installer.
    makes sense.

    The 32 bit crashed upon opening every time.

    First of all, Congratulations!
    You're going to LOVE Carrara!
    Next... you're picking the wrong installer.
    32 bit is for 32 bit machines, but will also work on a 64 bit machine.
    64 bit software can ONLY work on a 64 bit machine!

    Once you get that worked out, you'll need to install the latest version of Daz Studio 4.5 in order to get Genesis.
    To make the "Smart Content" work, you'll also need to open Daz Studio and let it update the library (and then close Daz Studio) before opening Carrara 8.5

    Hope this helps you out. Sorry you're having a hard time - but we'll get you going! ;)

    EDIT:
    If you have a previous version of Carrara installed, since this is a beta, you DO NOT need to uninstall the previous version prior to, or during installation.

    ...And do not install the beta in the same directory/folder as an older version because it could overwrite your data, including the native content. It is safe to have both on the machine, just different directories.
