I need to re-open the scene to see changes of luminescence on emssive planes?

I'm currently setting up the lights for a scene where I have emissive planes on all 4 sides of a house to simulate sunlight into the windows. I'm tweaking the lumens to get the right level of brightness in the house and I've noticed that if I want to see the changes in my render I have to change the value, save and reopen the scene. Otherwise the same image is rendered every time regardless of the changes I make. I've tested this thoroughly to be the case.

Any ideas why?

Are you rendering to the viewport or to a new window?

If to a new window are youclosing the old one out?

What version of Studio are you using?

New window. I've tried both closing the window and leaving the window open. I'm using 4.9.2.70

I'm running 4.9.2.70 and don't see that problem...but I have the delayed image change problem that plagues some folks...the changed texture images won't update unless they are a new name or restarted.  And that one seems to come and go...

Have you tried switching the emissive color, too?  Sometimes I've noticed that if you change more than one parameter, the changes are more noticeable.

If the camera headlamp is on it can mask subtle lighting changes, so make sure it's off.

Piggybacking off this. I seem to have fixed that issue with your advice in changing more than one setting.

I'm now noticing that the further the camera is from the planes the darker it gets. I can render through a window into the house and it will be well lit inside, but if I move the camera into the house it is pitch black. Any ideas about that?
