Jaggy shadows
Hello everyone!
I was doing a few test renders and noticed that my shadows look like this. I never noticed my shadows looking jaggy like that, so something must have changed. But I'm not quite sure what I could've changed that messed it up.
Any help would be appreciated! <3
Best regards, Binkz

Look up 'shadow terminator artifact' in the forum for details. It can happen in Iray given a certain set of circumstances. The threads run down what can cause it, and how to (attempt a) fix.
Thank you for your quick response Tobor. I searched around a bit but can't really find a solution.
Also, I'm wondering why this is suddenly a problem. It only happens on a few clothes, not on skin or anything else. And I have renders from a few days ago, with the same clothes and materials applied where the shadows are smooth.
I'm so upset about this.
If that's the case...is the SubDivison/mesh resolution the same?
Are the items in the same location (have they been moved, from say, the 0,0,0 default load location)?
Is the lighting the same/similar?
The items are all default, so the SubDivison/mesh resolution should be the same, I think?
I did a lot of testing, so I moved them around a lot and changed the lighting as well.
It's silky smooth on skin and the jeans. And as you can see it's absolutely terrible on "Top & Shorts" by RainbowLight.
Thank you for your help mjc1016!
