Can't find purchased product(Maclean)
Hello,
I have purchased a handful of products from Maclean. Props and various environements and enjoy working with them. Recently I was looking at the list in my product library and came across this product.
https://www.daz3d.com/interiors-the-hotel-room
I forgot I bought it and went on a search looking for it. I know some of this artists products appear under My Daz Library under Poser but I was unable to find it. I tried searching with key words and the artists name and while other products popped up, I couldn't find the hotel room. Does anyone have any good methods for searching for products? A Daz Bloodhound perhaps? I bought it, couldn't find it and forgot about it, which is a shame.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

If you have installed through DIM, you can search your installed content, and right-click the triangle behind the item. It should have an option in the list where it says "show installed items", and from that location, you can see where it stored it in the library.
Thank you! Good Tip! That worked and after...of course...I found it in a reasonable place inside Daz. 3 lessons learned here....
1: Take a step back and don't decide you can't find something until you've looked everywhere.
2: As soon as you ask a question on the board, you can count on an answer and then realize where you went wrong.
3: Maclean doesn't have bad file structure.
:P
Maclean doesn't have bad anything!
Sorry, I'm a big fan. Had to say it.
I love maclean, I have bought a ton of his stuff. I've found that they are installed sort of inconsistently though. They are props but I often have a tough time finding them. Some items are under /props/maclean, others under /environments/maclean, others just under /maclean. And some are in the runtime folder under props.
All were installed using DIM.
The Props > Mclean and Environments > Mclean are two different things, really. The props are 'things' and environments are 'places'...
The Runtime > Props items are older Poser format ones.
I'm not sure what the /mclean items are, but most of the time, I think they are materials for the Poser format items in the Runtime structure.
I've been using a standard file structure for many years now, one that DAZ themselves first persuaded me to use - ie the so-called 'vanity folder'. I was against this in the beginning, but DAZ convinced me it was the best option. Here are the structures I've used for all my products for the last 14 years.
Poser - Runtime/Libraries/Figures/Maclean - The following category folders with sub-folders for each product - Everyday, Exteriors, Home One, Interiors, Italia, Room Creator
The above category folders are also found under Props, Poses, Materials, etc, depending on the product.
DAZ Studio 2 & 3 - content/Maclean - Everyday, Exteriors, Home One, Interiors, Italia, Room Creator
DAZ Studio 4 - Props/Maclean - Everyday
Geometry and textures are always in Geometries/data/textures> maclean/sub-folder
As for Environments, I've never used that folder but it's possible that DAZ QA may have placed one of my products in there. And '/mclean' is one I've never heard of or seen.
I know this structure won't please everyone, but the simple fact is that no matter what structure I use, someone won't like it. I prefer to at least stay consistent over the years, rather than keep chopping and changing structures.

To clarify my earlier comment, when I said /Maclean I meant /content/Maclean. the content/Maclean folder goes /content/Maclean/Interiors/Diner . So the diner interior is the only thing there.
My /content/Environments folder includes /content/Environments/Architecture/Maclean/Interiors/Corridors and /content/Environments/Architecture/Maclean/Interiors/Hotel which are the Interiors Corridors product and Interiors Hotel product. Then as you mentioned, the props are under either the props of the figures are of the runtime library for old poser format items.
Bottom line: I have a ton of Maclean's content that I use a lot and highly (very highly!) recommend but I often have to look around to figure out if this one is in props, or environments or in the runtime under figures, etc. I don't think this is any fault of Maclean, it's just the way it is. It's worth it to surf around to find it because it's always useful.
I *think* anything under Environments/Architecture may have been put there by DAZ during QA to keep them standardised. All my recent sets have been props, so I haven't put anything in the Environments folder for several years.
