"The content may not work as expected" Help

There is a prop in Daz that through me this message each time I load it "Some assets needed to load the file were missing. The content may not work as expected" I can use the prop normally. There is no problem with that but when I use the batch render it stops and get stuck when it has to load a scene with that prop. I have re-installed zbrush and daz several times but the problem stills there in that prop. What should I do?

Thanks for advice

I can't tell you exactly what the issue is, but you might want to check your log files which should show the details, if the error message itself is not showing them. Such errors are invariably associated with the content itself, not the software, so re-installing your programs will accomplish nothing in all probability. The most common source of such problems is misplaced files: misnamed or files placed in incorrect folders.

  • Yes, in the vastly overwhelming majority of cases, reinstalling the program will never be the solution to a content problem. Sometimes, though, reinstalling only that one item of content (don't waste time reinstalling all your content) will fix a glitch.

Note that every now and then the problem is something wrong with the content itself — usually misplaced files, as mentioned above. Tell us what it is, and maybe someone here can help.

One other thing, did you install manually, using DIM, or using Connect?

  • Thanks for all the answers!

"The log file shows me like 50 pages of numbers and thing I don't understand"

Yes, that is common, as the log file is cumulative, with entries for everything that has occured in DAZ Studio since the last time the log file was cleared. The entries are from oldest at the top to most recent at the bottom. Here is what I would do: Open DAZ Studio, then open the log file. Select everything in the log file, then delete those entries, leaving you with an empty text file. Save the empty file. You now have a clean log file. Don't worry about the possibility of this affecting DAZ Studio - it won't. Now, load a copy of the offending item into the blank scene in DAZ Studio. When the error pops up click OK and immediately re-open your log file. The only entries in the log file should be associated with loading the Bucket List. The text from the log file can be selected, copied and pasted into a post here if you cannot interpret it, and help is on the way! smiley

Okay, I have this, and I don't get any errors when I load bits into my scene. I'll dig into it a bit more, see what I can find out.

No, that isn't the solution to your problem either, it's as useful as reinstalling DAZ|Studio (i.e. none).

How did you install this item (manual, DIM or Connect) and how are you trying to load it (Smart Content tab, or Products section of the Content Library tab)?

Note that this is in Poser format with DAZ|Studio materials added; this will have an effect on how it works.
