Problem with Topmodel Updo from OOT

Just bought Topmodel Updo and I'm having some trouble.  It installed according to DIM but I couldn't find it.  Figured out it was in lost and found in my smart content section.  I uninstalled it and tried downloading it manually, then manually installing (the zip package) with DIM, which also appeared to work fine.  However the hair still doesn't show up in hairs, it goes to lost and found.

From the content library I tried using the hair (apply the hair, pick a base color, just like all my OOT hairs).  It seems like the transparency layer is goofed up somehow - the hair is blocky instead of strands.  Colors work, just the textures don't apply properly.

Anyone else having this problem?

most likely it has a seperate option you use first to apply the trans map then the color like his past few hairs, look in the materials folder for an option that says use first

The styling and hairblending presets are Iray only, they won't work for 3delight.  You have to apply the base material, located under Materials>Iray>Hair>Settings.  In this case, though, it looks like the transparency maps for the hair weren't loaded.

  • The metadata on the hair is definitely messed up. But ermullens is correct. There is an apply first material that sets the trans maps.

  • Actually, the 3Delight presets load transparency maps automatically.  The apply first base material is strictly Iray.

Thanks all for the comments.  I got it working with you're help - ermullens is right just needed to apply the base material first.  Strange - I have OOTs other hairblending 2.0 hairs and don't remember having to do that.

    Thanks!
