I decided to reinstall DAZ3D. When I entered I saw this problem. Black lashes all models of Genesis 3 woman. Just after I apply the hair disappears top of the head. I reinstalled Daz3d many times. Erases all computer data about the program. Nothing helps. Help me please. I suffer third day. As much as I want to cry.

my initial thought is that there is something wrong with the texture that you are using for the model. Is there an alternative texture that you could use to test out the theory?

My other thought was maybe that it is something to do with the shadows being cast or some setting like that in the parameters section, but looking at your render (especially her left eye) it looks less procedural.

I assume you use Studio 4.9?

Also, does you character have an iray skin, or a 3DL skin? Are you using Iray or 3DL as render engine? What light are you using?

This looks like a problem with transparency/Cutout opacity settings.

Also, you said that the problem does not appear if you ONLY load the genesis 3 and render her? only if you add hair?

I have had similar problems just recently and I solved it by changed the texture set I used for the eyes weirdly enough. As it turns out the 'Ruby 7 eyes' would not work for me but the 'Titus 7' and the 'Snowflake for Aiko 7' eyes would work. Something like that I have no desire to figure out why, I just use what works.

  • im having a similar problem. Ive had it before and fixed it by turning off the subshader dial i think. but thats not working this time. the skin keeps rendering white. sometimes with shading on contours. but while im workong everything is fine.

That's because you have them it seems in some sort of clear cube with surface properies that must be obscuring your characters surface properties.

  • Go to your temp folder (you can get there from the prefrences dialogue by holding ctrl(Win)/cmd(Mac) and clicking the ... button next to the path) then \Shaders\Brickyard and delete the contents of the folder. If you try rendering again DS will rebuild the Shader Mixer shader that had become corrupt.

  • you know ive been getting an error msg quite often mentioning a severity and shader brick yard. ill try your fix. im not sure how to get to the preferences dialogue but ill try right now. thanks. i hope it works.

  • Edit>Preferences on Windows, Daz Studio>Preferences for the Mac.

  • OK so I tried it and I deleted the folder named 4cea189a-5d57-43ce-b96e-aoc26c-23c46c. And the render came out better but I still keep getting the same error msg. I think it's s2069 or something. So I restored the deleted folder and went to try deleting it's contents but the folder is empty or contents do not match my search.
  • Please post the actual error - you can get it from the log file, Help>Troubleshooting>View Log.

  • do any of these tell you anything cuz its like reading greek to me. there were so many warning entries. im starting to panic. does any of this fix with other fixes or does everything have to be individually fixed? I hope you can read these. they may come out blurry, in which case ill type in the ones i think are most signifiant later in the day.

  • The first, Iray, errors say that your GPU is not supported, at least with the current drivers. They have no bearing on issues with 3Delight. The third screenshot just shows that some links are not resolved - that's probably fine, if the full text was visible it would probably indicate that they were links from correction morphs to particular shapes and you don't have the shapes in question so ther's nothing to link to but you don't need the corrections. The last is the 3Delight error and that does indicate a bad shader compile - empty out the \Temp\Shaders\Brickyard folder and try again.

  • ok ill try again thanks

Curious: are you rendering 3Delight?  Are you using the AoA lighting products?  They don't come with DAZ studio, they are seperate purchases so if you didn't buy them you know you aren't using them.  Anyway I've seen artifacts like that when using 3Delight with the AoA lights with materials having transmaps, in particular eyelashes. It was because I had set their so-called "hitmode" to something other than "shader" and they have issues with transmapped items if you do that.  There are workarounds I can help you with if that's what's going on.

  • No not using aoa lights but am rendering 3delight.
