PN-Addresses of Vendors?

AndySAndyS Posts: 1,449

Hi,

how to send notes to a specific vendor?
OK, within the forum you can send notes to other users. But you exactly have to know their note's name.

And there is the problem. There are many names looking as if it could be the specific vendor, but which of the almost matching ones is it?

I expected something usable under the shop -> vendors category. Something like "send Note to Vendor". frown

CS deal with support issues for PAs products.

  • Many of the PAs have commercial threads for their products and sendign them a PM (private message) is as easy as clicking on their name.

    Yes, of cause,

but that way you first have to enter the forum and select them there.
Why not directly from within their shop?
(Why easy, as complicated is more fun) frown

I can totally see them being bombarded with messages with something like this and it keeping them from their work. I love that DAZ refers users to customer support when trying to get ahold of PAs.

Yep; a link on the store page would make three ways just on this site to contact them (the others being the forum here and via Customer Service). Not to mention that some of them can be found on other sites (store and social media), if you know who to look for.

did you ever try to get a useful support from customer support?

I have open requests since over one year.

CS issues still would need to go through Customer Support as PMs are a unreliable form of communication. If the PA doesn't access the forum you will never get a response, nor will the issue be tracked.

But via CS the direct discussion with the corresponding experts (vendors / DAZ programmers) is not possible.
What is filtered by CS doesn't have any efficient outcome. Do you know the childs play "silent post" ?

  • If CS acts as a filter then the PA need answer each question only once (at most), if the PAs were providing diect support then they'd have much less time for product creation. If CS can't answer a question directly they will seek those who can - including, if appropriate, the PA.

There have been a few times that I needed to contact another vendor and there's no way to do it.  It's not about a product so no commcerial thread where I can click on their name.  There's no link on their store page so I can't get hold of them here.  As an example, one of my testers liked an older female character that another vendor had created and he wanted to know if the vendor would be interested in making a male version.  My tester thought that I had contact with this vendor (which I didn't).  Being me I said that I would try to contact the vendor.

It all ended good because I was able to contact the vendor at Renderosity and they did indeed create an older male figure to compliment the older female figure they had made due to my tester's request.  So, just saying, there are reasons that one might want to contact a vendor that has nothing to do with an existing product and you can not bother customer service with.

Still if they aren't part of the forum they can't be contacted. Not all PAs are english speakers. You can still use CS to contact them if needed.
