I need some help with eyebrows ...

Hey everyone

I am creating a character that has Vulcan / Elf long thin pointed eyebrows for a Sci-Fi comic. The character is a Genesis 2 Female base and I am looking for a good Comercial Resourse for G2 and an eyebrow resouse that has elf like eyebrows in it. For those that have the Brows Remover script, can you tell me how well it works and if there are any quirks to the program.

Any tips or hints for replacing eyebrows from an existing texture would also be helpful in the event that I do not purchase the Brow Remover. I have texturing experiance and consider myself to have an average skill in photoshop, so I could do it but it would take a lot longer than I would like it too.

    1) Duplicate face texture file.
    2) Either use a content aware clone tool, erase eye brows or make selection of forehead and cover eyebrows with pasted forehead texture with nice feathered edges.
    3) I would recommend that you buy the RedzStudio eyebrow product at Rendo since it has a lot of options for shaping or search for free eye brow resources, or paint in your own.
    4) load your figure with original texture, swap new face texture for old, render.

    Nemesis,

Just took a look at the RedzStudio eyebrow product and it looks great but I am using Genesis 2 not Genesis 3 so it won't work for what I want to do. I will give your suggestion to remove the eyebrows in photoshop.

I don't know about resources for the eyebrows, but I do have Brow Remover and it does a great job most of the time.

If the texture has a lot of wrinkles baked in, you might run into a problem or two. But if you are using a merchant resource for the skin, I wouldn't expect that to be a problem.

The base texture is a G2f Character from Silver so the wrinkles are not an issue. The Brow remover is sounding better and better but I really would like to hear more about it before spending my limited 3D funds.

WOW, thanks Kerya! I will give this a try. I watch him on DA so it will be easy to grab after work. You are awesome, Thanks

I have had no bad results with brow remover so far, used it about 8 times. That number is low mainly because I save the results to the texture's home so I can just replace the textures from there in the future rather than using the script over and over.

So you can use it to create a new texture without the eyebrows? Now that would certainly be worth the purchase right there

I've converted a lot of my character's to have no brows - manually.

I still bought brow remover. It is quicker, and the only time I've had issues (and done manually) is when there are different sizes of texture; bump, spec, SSS is smaller than the diffuse.

Either resize the textures, or do manually.

The brow remover is a great product.

My vote on the Lactis eyebrows; I've converted to G3 and added materials and morphs to it too.

I am going to pick the Lactis brows after work, the bosses don't look to highly on sights like DA at work. What are the morphs like on the eyebrows? Will they straighten out and give a Vulcan or Elf like style?

Totally. That's effectively what it's doing -- it manipulates facial textures to create new textures that lack eyebrows.

Normally these new textures just sit in temp directory, but you can go nab those and copy them over to an appropriate directory. (which is what I do)

There's a button on the interface to save the new textures, so you don't have to do it manually. Click on the button and another screen pops up where you can choose where to save the new textures, and where to save the new presets. It's really handy.

Thanks everyone for all the input on this I think I am going to go with the brow remover and the mesh eyebrows from Laticis's DA page. I will have to test to see if I can straighten them enough along with changing their angle to replicate the Vulcan style I am looking for.

There isn't much in the way of morphs with the eyebrows; I added some (seen image) but I also use 200 Plus to adjust the brows if required. Can get some pretty cool effects that way, small amounts also work well for more normal adjustments. I also added the mat zones, see image there too.

Seem to recall there is a freebie, or product available elsewhere - called MW Brow, something like that.

Those are more arched than I am looking for. I am wanting a straight angled set of lashes for G2F. Those lashes remind me more of Ming the Merciless from Flash Gordon than Lt. Savik from Star Trek.
