Someone should take a look at the product description. it isn't clear on the Iray materiaisl for the tree.

It seems some props are 3Delight, Iray, and Poser. Others are just 3Delight and Poser. No mention if the Tree has Iray materials.

Update: The tree does come with Iray mateials: “Props:Merlin:Victorian Christmas Tree:Iray”

All the promos are iRay, so it would be very odd if iRay materials were not included. Sometimes the descriptions can be a bit off, you should check the readme for the full list of files included.

Thanks. This one does include a list of items and the tree does come with Iray mateials.

Yay! Excited that we finally have an Iray Christmas tree! Now, if someone could do textures for a white tree, that would be awesome. Or maybe there's a way to do that with shaders. Will have to play.

Yes, as has been said, the tree is available with Iray, 3Delight and Poser support.

I really don't understand this comment, most any tree or prop can be made into an IRAY object easily. Here is a WIP progress render of a scene i an working on The tree is mine and the decorations are from other models I have. I applied the DAZ Iray base shader to every object in the scene, then turned up the metal settings on the objects that are metal, and added emissive properties to the lights and the flame in the fireplace. the hardets part was getting the displacement settings on the garland so it would look like garland. Applying the Iray shaders took about 8 munites with the interactive preview on. With one of the many IRAY shaders in the store, it could probably take less time. As for a white tree, I just need to take the needle texture into photoshop and change the color of the needles

I have both evergreen tree models (just obj files) and leafless decidious trees from DAZ 3D Store but I have to recent products from the DAZ Store that are for snow but neigher puts snow on branches like after a heavy snow.

Is there a product that does that?

    Heavy/fluffy snow on any tree?

I don't think so...and it would be very hard to do, because there is no particle based volume in Studio, and you'd need something like that to have it work on anything.  There are some specific trees that do have the 'fluffy' option...I think the one that just came out has it...

Thanks. I have that one. I combined it with the earlier one I bought in November & together that are quite nice for ground & snowfall.

I think I have a product in Unity 3D can turn such trees into snow covered trees (I think it winds up adding mesh) and i can export those to DAZ. I'll give it a try before Christmas.

Yep, particles or mesh...that's about it.

I wanted an updated one that I didn't have to fiddle with so much in DAZ. Yes, I've got other trees and have played around with the shaders, for better or worse. My Iray interactive preview is very slow, my computer isn't the greatest. Makes it kind of painful. I just wanted something I could simply drop into a scene that didn't require extensive renovating. I'd love a white texture that could go on with a click too. Yes, I could take time to do one of my own in Photoshop, time I don't have at the moment. With all the Christmas promos in Iray, I was surprised they didn't have one out sooner. Glad they do now.

There is also the DA let it snow product which creates a geoshell of the object and applies an IRAY snow shader to it, not the same as globs of snow, but it works well

Thanks for the reply and I understand. I have several modeling and rendering apps i use, so changing textures, creating textures, editing mesh, fiddling with shaders is a normal part of the process for me which is why it's hard for me to understand why it seems most users won't touch anything unless it is 100% IRAY plug and play, especially when everything you need to make something IRAY is a click or two away..

I'm hoping to learn more in the future. I absolutely love digital art. I wish there were more hours in the day- or I could just win the lottery, buy out the DAZ store and stay home all day long playing (on a newer computer!)
